Edinburgh Castle, old town, and a good Turkish Restaurant

This is Edinburgh Castle, we opted out of the actual walking tour on the inside. It takes about a day to actually see the whole thing. I would give at least half a day to tour the Scotland Museum. We went there to warm up a bit and check it out after lunch. We have more picture's on our phones but we'll save those for another day.

Angel and Emily

Edinburgh Castle. The "Tattoo" is held here in the opening outside of the castle. The construction is the removal of the grand stands that they put for the show.

The Royal Mile

Anchor Close. A "Close" is an alley way which would have been closed up at night to protect the businesses and residents from any criminals that may have been lurking.

Old Town taken from the Castle.

Old Town taken from the Castle

Edinburgh Castle, the walls are quite thick 20 feet in some spots.

Cannons protecting the castle. At 1:00pm they still do a single blast from an artillery gun, everyday except Sunday.

Just a nice photo of the use of space and interesting architect.

We flipped a coin, the picture of Emily is way better. (This is the opposite view of the photo above)

Royal Mile

Hanedan, Turkish cuisine. We tried it on a whim and it was great!! Can't pronounce what the call the dishes, but they were great.
